Gavdos Beaches: A little shade by Sarakiniko, this ‘Saracens Beach’ is one of the stunning stretches of sand on the coast of Gavdos. A short walk from the main beach and you can be totally alone in the shade of this tree.
You will not find any sun loungers to hire, parasols, watersports or other trappings of many holiday resorts, just sun, sand and sea.

Some visitors to the island take advantage of ‘free camping’ and site their tents under the trees, with a few nice tavernas to keep them fed and watered. You may also notice that many of the visitors to the beaches on Gavdos prefer to wear no clothing whatsoever.
